Fish
In many Asian cultures, the koi fish is a revered symbol of good fortune, prosperity, and luck. It also embodies perseverance in the face of adversity. Different colors and patterns of koi hold distinct meanings: gold koi represent personal wealth, while silver koi signify business success. White koi with red patches can symbolize love, relationships, success, or prosperity, and blue spots on white koi represent strength and prosperity. The direction of the koi's swim also holds significance: swimming downward indicates overcoming obstacles, while swimming upward represents ambition and facing new challenges. Black koi signify triumph over adversity. As an artist, I'm drawn to the koi's inspiring symbolism, and they've become a recurring theme in my paintings.
Birds
Feathers
I had a dream of a beautiful white feather floating in space. Once in a while, I attempt to capture that dream. In some First Nations, feathers signify a connection between the owner, the Creator, and the bird from which the feather came. It also can symbolizes trust, honor, strength, wisdom, power, and freedom.
